<< Corvette Photos - July 28th

This is the 7th time Corvette has been selected as the Official Pace Car of
the Indianapolis 500. General Colin L. Powell lead the field to the start of
the 89th running of the Indy 500 on May 29, 2005. The pace car is identical
to the regular 2005 C6. The 2005 Corvette C6 Convertible has a new LS2 6.0-liter
small block engine that puts out 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. This
brings the C6 from 0-60 mph in 4.1 seconds and has a top speed of 186 mph. The
C6 has the best horsepower to gas mileage ratio then any other performance car
with an average of 22.6 mpg. The C6 also features exposed headlamps. This is
the first time since 1962 a Corvette has a way to conceal the lamps when not
in use. The C6 has the Z51 Performance Package which brings the car close to
what the Z06 has to offer.
