The 50th Anniversary Corvette was a Z06. This 2003 50th Anniversary Corvette Convertible Pace Car was driven not only in the Indy 500, it was also the Official Pace Car for the 10th Running of the Brickyard 400. Many buyers of this year enjoy the quickness of the vehicle's 5.7L LS-1 V8 engine which brings 350 horsepower to the rear wheels, but what many people have on there mind now is gas prices. The 2003 Z06 gets an average of 23 mpg on freeway and around 18 mpg during highway/city driving which is the best gas mileage of any new sports car. The Z06 also comes with a standard six-speed stick shift, which is the only tranny available for this car.
