1986 was the second time for Corvette to pace the Indianapolis 500 where the car was driven by famous test pilot Chuck Yeager. There were no modifications made for the Corvette Pace Car so every C4 Corvette Convertible made that year were replicas to the pace car. There were 7,315 convertibles made that year which were the first Corvette convertibles made since 1975. It was also the first street-legal car to pace Indy since the previous Corvette. The L98 5.7L V8 engine creates 240 horsepower and comes with a 4 speed automatic transmission.
