<< Car Chaos Photo Shoots << Corvette Photos - July 28th

The 1982 Corvette Stingray C3 Coupe in this picture is one out of 25,407 coupes made that year. Chevrolet offered a special "Collector Edition" coupe with a two-tone silver/beige paint for exterior and interior. The special also included a hatchback rear glass window. The Corvette also included a new crossfire fuel injection system with a 5.7L engine. The L83 engine produced 200 horsepower and 280 pounds of torque. The Stingray can reach 0-60 in 8.1 seconds and can do a quarter mile in 15.9 seconds at 86 miles per hour. The car can reach 125 mph and actually has a not so bad gas mileage at 21.5 miles per gallon average.
On the downside about the C3 Coupe is that there was not an option for a 4 speed manual during the year of '82, so all the Vette's that year came with 4 speed automatics. This particular Corvette received a Bloomington Gold award that year. A Corvette can only make the Bloomington Gold award if its an original or a perfectly restored classic. Only Corvettes between the years of 1953-1982 received awards of certifications. A Bloomington Gold certificate is the most desired award a Corvette can receive.
