<< Car Chaos Photo Shoots << Corvette Photos - July 28th

In total there were 3,467 Corvette convertibles produced during 1956. These cars are sweet looking with their classic sports car design. The front end of this Corvette is possibly the most notable part with the thick chrome grill and the chrome rimmed headlights. They offered three different engine sizes on this model, and the most commonly chosen was the 225hp V-8. Also there was a special high-lift camshaft option which claimed an unofficial 240hp, but it was very rare. You could get them with an auxiliary hardtop or a power operated folding top. Not only that but the 1956 Corvette actually was the first car to offer a "Transistorized" AM Radio, and "Dual Point" Distributors.
